Congratulations, new Dragons!!

Start your DigiPen journey with a triumphant roar by joining your new cohort at New Student Orientation (NSO)! This week-long event welcomes all incoming undergraduate and graduate students to DigiPen’s campus for an opportunity to meet faculty and current students, learn about campus resources included in your tuition, and receive useful tips that every new student should know.

All Fall 2024 incoming students are required to attend NSO.

Step 1: Register for NSO

First things first! Sign up for NSO to secure your spot during our weeklong orientation starting on Monday, August 26, and ending on Friday, August 30. Each day will start at 10 a.m. and wrap up around 4 p.m.

You’ll need your login credentials you used during the application process to sign in.

Registration for Family Orientation on Saturday, August 24, is also available.

Step 2: Pre-Orientation Program

Complete the online Pre-Orientation Program to get an overview of the DigiPen student experience before you arrive to the in-person portion of NSO. This web content offers important information regarding campus support services, academic advising, tuition and fees, and a checklist of tasks to complete before the in-person NSO.

  • All students are required to complete these modules at least 72 hours prior to the on-campus NSO on Monday, August 26.

Step 3: Sexual Violence and Prevention (Title IX) Training

It’s important to complete this session at least 72 hours prior to NSO or before classes begin. This training helps you better understand what sexual violence is and the effects it can have, as well as helping you develop the skills necessary to promote and maintain healthy relationships, reduce risk, and support victims of sexual violence. This workshop provides real-life scenarios focused on how to prevent sexual violence and what is and is not consent.

A link to the Sexual Violence and Prevention (Title IX) Training will be provided in the Pre-Orientation Program checklist.

Step 4: Optional Sessions

As we get closer to the big event, consider attending these optional sessions prior to NSO:

Registration Information Session

Course registration is a major step for all incoming students! Learn the ins and outs of Colleague Self-Service, the platform used to register for classes, in either of our two upcoming online sessions. With additional topics covering how to use the tool for advising and other important academic features, either session is a great way to prepare for the new semester and New Student Orientation.

Family Orientation

All incoming Dragons and their families are invited to our Family Orientation on Saturday, August 24, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at DigiPen’s campus. Students will be able to meet one-on-one with staff from different departments to make any final accommodations prior to NSO. Parents and supporters can connect with DigiPen staff and get to know other families.

Step 5: Attend New Student Orientation

Get excited! New Student Orientation kicks off on Monday, August 26, and wraps up on Friday August 30. Head over to campus for daily sessions tailored at getting you up to speed on what it means to be a DigiPen Dragon. If you haven’t already, make sure to secure your spot by registering for the event.

NSO’s format is designed to convey information intended for students to find success at DigiPen. Each day of NSO will focus on different information, so it’s important to be present daily to get prepared for the academic year. The end of each day of NSO concludes with a breakout session with upper class student leaders known as Orientation Leaders. Lunch is served daily, and light breakfast items will also be provided each day. You’ll also receive your DigiPen badge at NSO.

Attendance at the in-person NSO is mandatory for all Fall 2024 incoming students.
