Congratulations, new Dragons. To start off your journey at DigiPen on the right foot, we would like to invite you to New Student Orientation (NSO). During NSO, you will have an opportunity to meet both new and current students, hear from your program directors and faculty, and receive some useful tips that every new student should know.

We are working diligently over the next few months to create a New Student Orientation experience that fully immerses you in DigiPen while ensuring the health and wellness of all our students, staff, and faculty.

Meeting Your Orientation Leaders

During New Student Orientation, current DigiPen students will serve as your Orientation Leaders (OLs). OLs will reach out in early August to introduce themselves and mail you your DigiPen Cohort Scale! You’ll be invited to connect with your OLs and other incoming DigiPen students through a live, online meeting platform. These student leaders are here to guide you through New Student Orientation, answer any questions, and share information that will be valuable during your time at DigiPen.

Online New Student Orientation

Beginning Monday, August 16, 2021, you will get access to a self-paced online orientation, which we recommend you complete prior to the on-campus orientation. This required web content will give you an overview of the DigiPen student experience and details about campus support services. To sign in, you will need your Student ID. We recommend completing this prior to on-campus orientation.

On-Campus New Student Orientation

From August 23-27, 2021, we will be hosting on-campus events that will include opportunities to connect with your program directors and current students, and familiarize yourself with learning tools. You will also receive your DigiPen badge and take a tour at this time and can look forward to visiting on the same day as other students in your academic program. There will also be more opportunities, such as the Club Fair, to learn about student resources and other ways to get involved in campus happenings.

Based on your degree program, you will be scheduled to attend one of the sessions on Monday through Thursday, then join all of your fellow students for Friday’s Welcome Back Events. Monday through Thursday sessions will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. PDT.

Parent and Family Orientation

DigiPen will be hosting an online session on Tuesday, August 24 at 6:00 p.m. PDT, designed specifically for families and parents! This will be an opportunity to ask any questions about supporting your new student and to become familiar with important campus resources. Check back here for more details soon.
