What should I bring?
We encourage roommates to talk about the items in the following list and strongly recommend seeing what the apartment space truly looks like before buying any bulky items — for instance, anything you couldn’t carry in both hands.
Things to contact your roommates about:
Silverware, cookware (pots, pans, toaster oven, etc.)
Trashcans (bathroom and kitchen)
Broom, vacuum cleaner
Shower curtains
Toilet cleaning supplies
Hairstopper
Basic cleaning supplies (dusters and wipes)
Toilet paper, paper towels, tissue
Miscellaneous/Optional:
Kitchen organization, storage objects
Comfortable desk chair
Wall hooks and command strips (for hanging objects)
Desk (Look at the space on your arrival before bringing or purchasing one)
Extra lighting (tall lamps and desk lamps)
Drain cleaner, clog remover
First aid kit, medicine (for cold, flu, etc.)
Individual Items:
Laundry baskets
Personal hygiene equipment
Bathroom organization, storage objects
Bedsheets, pillows, and mattress topper
Side tables, nightstands, TV trays (for extra surface area)
Fans
Consider the Space
If you are bringing large items into the apartment (such as snowboards, bikes, military gear, scooters, skateboards, etc.), be sure to communicate this with your roommates. Apartment units have limited storage space and everything, from leftover moving boxes to suitcases, will take up space.
