In this exclusive music video, students on the DigiPen Jazz Ensemble perform “All Good,” an original jazz composition by the ensemble’s director Bruce Stark.

The DigiPen Jazz Ensemble performs a variety of pieces, including jazz classics as well as jazz renditions of famous video game songs. The group started as a club in 2013 before becoming an official course taught by the Department of Music in 2014. Students can enroll by auditioning when there is an opening for their instrument.

Bruce Stark joined DigiPen in 2013 as a senior lecturer for the Department of Music. Before that, he spent more than 20 years in Japan, where he composed music and performed in major concert halls in Japan and abroad as a soloist, band leader, and ensemble player.

Mr. Stark says he is very excited to bring the music of DigiPen’s students to a larger audience using videos of in-studio and live performances. The DigiPen Jazz Ensemble gave its first public performance at Kirkland Summerfest earlier this season.

This video was recorded in DigiPen’s on-campus sound studio, and Mr. Stark says more DigiPen Jazz Ensemble music videos are on the way. “We were extremely fortunate to have DigiPen’s film instructor Chris Mosio and student assistants do the camera work for our first three videos,” Mr. Stark says.
