Transferring credits from a previous community college is an effective way to reduce both cost and time to graduation. If you’re a transfer student from Bellevue College, you have several opportunities to transfer eligible college credit to a selection of DigiPen degrees.
Transfer Credits and Complete Your Degree Faster
High school students enrolled in the Washington Running Start program can transfer at least 45 quarter credits (30 semester credits) toward a DigiPen degree and potentially earn a traditional four-year DigiPen degree in only three years. Each of our eligible degree programs offers unique transfer requirements, and you can determine if the credits you’ve earned qualify you to complete your desired degree in less time and at a lower total program cost.
For a comprehensive overview of earned college credit that can be transferred from Bellevue College to DigiPen, see our Bellevue College Course Equivalency Guide.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Game Design
Students who successfully transfer the following courses from Bellevue College may be able to complete the remaining requirements for the BS in Computer Science and Game Design degree in six semesters or three academic years, according to the sample course sequence below.
See our Bellevue College Course Equivalency Guide for more information on transferring specific courses. A minimum of 50% of program requirements must be completed at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Course categories or requirements listed without specific course numbers should be selected from the equivalency guide.
The six-semester sample course sequence assumes transferable completion of the following Bellevue College courses:
ENGL& 101 (5 quarter credits/3 semester credits)
At least 15 quarter credits (9 semester credits) in the following Humanities and Social Sciences Elective categories: ANTH, BUS, CES, DRMA, ECON, GEOG, INTST, POLS, or any world language including ASL*
At least 10 quarter credits (6 semester credits) in the following Math and Sciences Elective categories: MATH, ASTR, BIOL, CHEM, ENVS, GEOL, NUTR, OCEA, PHYS
At least 15 quarter credits (9 semester credits) of Open Electives*
*See the Bellevue College Course Equivalency Guide for specific courses in these categories that meet the transfer requirements.
The sample course sequence is an example only. Your course progression may differ depending on the number of credits and the courses you transfer. If you have any questions about transferable courses or would like a preliminary, unofficial course equivalency evaluation, please contact admissions@digipen.edu for further information.
