We offer DigiPen students housing during the academic year, summer, and for various DigiPen programs throughout the year. Upon applying for housing, residents can request Inclusive Housing and Housing Accommodations.

In order to complete a housing application and be placed you must:

  1. Be accepted to DigiPen Institute of Technology, sign your enrollment agreement, and pay your $150 enrollment fee. Admissions will then provide you with credentials for SRS that will allow you to access the Housing Application.
  2. Fill out the application.
  3. Pay the $300 security deposit.

DigiPen Housing will not place anyone that does not meet these requirements. Residents who fulfill their eight-month academic contract or any term in full are eligible to receive their deposits back at the end of their session.

Academic Year

We offer eight-month contracts for the Academic Year to first-year students through graduate students. At this time, DigiPen Housing does not offer family housing or separate fall/spring contracts (unless moving in as a Spring Start student).

The spring 2023 move-in timeline is pending a Spring Start for this academic year. Additional information on spring 2023 move-in will be provided by August 2022.

Tentative Timeline

  • Monday, February 7, 2022 | 2022-2023 academic year housing applications open on SRS

  • Friday, July 15, 2022 | Residents must notify Housing by this date if they are not coming for the fall in order to get their security deposit back

  • Week of July 18-22, 2022 | Placements

    • We will notify you one month prior to move-in of any changes, withdraws, etc.
    • You will receive your address, roommate’s contact information, and move-in instructions via email

Cost

Standard Apartments:

  • 5 residents in a 2 bedroom, 2 or 1 bathroom | $8,240

  • 5 residents in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom | $8,240 (Limited number of apartments)

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom | $8,390

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 2/1.5 bathroom | $8,670

    • This is the standard room rate that also applies to Overflow Housing, which occurs when we are at capacity and must find temporary leases until we can move students into permanent housing.
    • Both models are charged at the same price because 1.5 bathrooms are still considered full bathrooms and have more square footage than some of the 2-bathroom apartments.
  • 3 residents in a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom | $8,760 (Limited number of apartments)

Luxury Apartment (The Bower):

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 2 or 1 bathroom | $13,010 (Limited luxury apartments)

Single Bedroom Options

We also offer the option to buy out your own bedroom. To buy out your bedroom, you must pay for the entire academic year up front, instead of by semester. When buying out your bedroom, you will be placed in the non-master bedroom and will receive no refund if you decide to leave at any point during the academic year.

Note that buying out your bedspace in one of these units will reduce the amount of people in it. So, if you choose to buy out a 4 resident, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit, there will be 3 residents living in it.

Costs for buying out a bedroom are as follows:

Standard Apartments:

  • 5 residents in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom | $16,480

  • 5 residents in a 3 bedroom, 2 or 1 bathroom | $16,480

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom | $16,780

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 2/1.5 bathroom | $16,780

Luxury Apartment (The Bower):

  • 4 residents in a 2 bedroom, 1 or 2 bathroom(s) | $26,020

Inclusive Housing

DigiPen Housing seeks to provide a welcoming and inclusive living environment for its students. Inclusive Housing is an option for students to share a multiple-occupancy apartment, regardless of each student’s sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation. This allows students in the process of discovering their gender identity; students who do not wish to identify themselves by gender; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Asexual, or Queer students; and students who feel more comfortable with a roommate of a different sex, gender, or sexual orientation the option to find a more compatible roommate and living situation within our community.

Inclusive Housing may be especially appealing to:

  • Students who do not identify within the gender binary
  • Members of the LGBTQIA+, gender and sexual orientation diversity, and ally communities
  • Students who feel more comfortable with a roommate of a different gender or sexual orientation
  • Students who are in the process of exploring their own gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation

If you are interested in living in Inclusive Housing, please indicate this in the options when submitting a DigiPen Housing Application.
