Magnolia Mae Goetze passed away at age 4 from brain cancer. In Magnolia, a poetic 3D tribute, you play as a young girl guided by a disembodied voice. Before she reaches her final destination, her journey will lead her through all the things she loved in her short, but cherished life.

The five levels in Magnolia were based on the five stages of grief. To convey denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, the game’s designers changed the colors, seasons, and weather in the game’s fantasy forest landscape, matching the progression of Magnolia’s battle with her cancer in the real world.
