We know that employers look for many qualities in well-rounded candidates: leadership, communication, problem solving, and more. To make sure that our graduates have every edge possible as they enter the workforce, we hire and recruit current students into on-campus positions that help cultivate these attributes and give them invaluable work experience along the way. Here are just a few of the positions that we hire students for each year.

  • Academic Success Lab Tutors

Tutors work in the Academic Support Lab under the supervision of the Student Success Advisors to provide drop-in tutoring for select 100- and 200-level courses. Tutors do not replace time in the classroom or faculty office hours but are considered an additional resource for students outside of the classroom to understand and reinforce classroom concepts and effective learning strategies.

  • Career Services Assistant (CSA)

The CSA is a student representative for DigiPen’s Office of Career Services, welcoming any student visitors that stop by the Career Services Office, answer basic career-related questions, and interface with employer guests.

  • Outreach Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassador Program is comprised of student leaders who volunteer to share their DigiPen experience with prospective students, families, and other members of the greater community. Ambassadors may participate in Student Shadows, Zoom calls, video interviews, and email exchanges, as well as group events like panels, Preview Days, and tours.

  • Resident Advisors (RA)

The Housing Resident Advisor team consists of 10 student leaders who live within the DigiPen Housing communities. The RA team is trained extensively in conflict mediation, emergency response, and positive communication. RAs also host events for their students to ensure they feel engaged and connected within the DigiPen Housing community.

  • Dragon Activities Board (DAB) Member

The Dragon Activities Board is a group of students who are tasked with facilitating several events and activities during the academic year. This is a volunteer position and is not paid. DAB members help organize, advertise, and lead campus-wide events like the Halloween Pageant, Spirit Week, the Spring Soiree, Open Mic Night, and Wellness Week.

  • Teaching Assistants (TA)

Teaching Assistants (TA) assist in the in-class instruction and grading of a specific course. They also offer academic support to current students taking the class.
