DigiPen Institute of Technology proudly abides by NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) Principles for Ethical Professional Practice.

Equity and Fairness

Career Services staff cannot hand select or personally recommend individual students for employment opportunities. Job opportunities must be advertised to all relevant students. Employers are welcome to connect with faculty members if they would like to inquire about a list of potential student recommendations.

Third Party

Third-Party agencies are welcome to recruit DigiPen students and alumni as long as they clearly indicate their agency type on Handshake. Under no circumstances does Career Services permit third-party agencies to charge students or alumni a fee for their services.

Job-Posting Resources

The Office of Career Services uses Handshake as their primary method of engaging students and employers. To post jobs, host events, participate in virtual fairs, and more, employers must create an account on Handshake.

Exploding Job Offers

The Office of Career Services does not condone nor support “exploding job offers.” Companies participating in such practices may be consulted by Career Services and/or experience adverse effects to their relationship with the college.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Office of Career Services does not support nor condone discriminatory hiring practices by employers and abides by DigiPen Institute of Technology’s core values with students.

Compensation

Job and internship opportunities advertised by Career Services must be compensated. Unpaid opportunities will not be approved unless clearly stated that it is a volunteer position.
