The annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco is the largest gathering of game industry professionals in the world. Featuring hundreds of panels, presentations, showcases, and multiple awards shows celebrating the best AAA and independent game releases of the past year, GDC is a place where developers of all backgrounds come to learn and share. DigiPen Institute of Technology has been a proud participant of GDC for many years running, and our community of alumni, faculty, and students continue to represent the college as invited speakers, award recipients, event volunteers, and more.

If you’re going to GDC 2019, be sure to stop by the DigiPen exhibitor booth (#N2817) and meet with our faculty, outreach, and career services teams. The GDC Expo runs March 20-22.

Game Narrative Review Competition

Congratulations to student Stav Hinenzon (BS in Computer Science and Game Design) on being a Gold Winner in this year’s Student Narrative Analysis Competition! All competition winners are invited to present a poster of their winning game narrative analysis during the GDC Game Narrative Summit, March 18-19.

Alumni Reception

If you’re a DigiPen alum and plan to be at GDC, we invite you and a guest to join us at our Alumni Reception, 8-11 p.m. on March 20 at the Tabletop Tap House (formerly Jillian’s), located at 175 4th Street.

Mingle with old friends and classmates, pick up some awesome DigiPen swag, and meet our new director of alumni relations, Maddie Caswell!
