DigiPen Institute of Technology’s main campus is located in Redmond, Washington. Tucked away in the meadowy Sammamish Valley and nestled against Willow-Rose Hill, DigiPen’s campus is flanked by small streams that funnel eastward into the valley and converge at the nearby Sammamish River. A pair of steep trails allow travelers to traverse the steep incline of Willow-Rose Hill by foot or bike, making for an easy commute to and from North Rose Hill's residential neighborhoods to the west.
DigiPen is located at 9931 Willows Road Northeast in Redmond, WA. Measuring at 140,000 square feet, the campus features over 30 classrooms, auditoriums, computer labs, and meeting rooms surrounding large, open lab spaces.
DigiPen’s entrances and all of the doors separating departments and classrooms automatically lock upon shutting. Students, faculty, and staff have badges to unlock doors to areas where they are permitted; guests must be escorted throughout the building.
Ample parking is available to students, faculty, staff, and visitors who drive their car. Several popular bicycling trails converge near DigiPen — including the Sammamish River Trail and the Puget Power Trail — and there are more than enough bike racks on campus to accommodate bike commuters. Mass transit including King County Metro and Sound Transit, which both have lines that stop near DigiPen’s campus, and DigiPen’s shuttle service, which connects the campus to the Redmond Transit Center and several nearby apartment complexes.
DigiPen’s largest computer lab spaces, Edison and Tesla, are equipped with powerful hardware and arranged into dedicated game production suites for student teams. Students often work in the the labs till late at night, jotting down diagrams on whiteboards, studying demos of popular games on widescreen monitors, or playtesting the latest renditions of their projects on rented game consoles.

The city of Redmond is located 16 miles east of Seattle, and is a part of King County and the Seattle metropolitan area. Known locally as the “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest,” Redmond is home to over 50,000 residents as well as some of the most famous technology and gaming companies in the world, including Microsoft Corporation, Nintendo of America, and Valve Corporation.
Popular attractions within walking distance of DigiPen include Black Raven Brewery, the Willows Run Golf Course, and Dr. Maze’s Farm. The Bella Botegga Shopping Center, Redmond Town Center, and a number of other shopping malls are all located within several miles of the DigiPen campus. Nature-lovers will also enjoy the proximity of some of King County’s wonderful parks, including Marymoor Park to the south and Sammamish Valley Park and Sixty Acres Park to the north.
