Number of Credits and GPA

The Bachelor of Arts in Game Design requires completion of at least 129 semester credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better. The program usually spans eight semesters of fifteen weeks each, or four academic years. See the sample course sequence for more information.

Grade Requirements

Students must receive a grade of “C-” (or 1.7 quality points) or higher in all courses for the BA in Game Design degree program.

12 additional credits must be selected from Design courses numbered 200 or higher.
General StudiesCOL 101 and COL 235.
Humanities and Social SciencesCOM 150
Six credits must be selected from English courses.
Three additional credits must be selected from Humanities and Social Sciences courses.
Mathematics and ScienceMAT 105
Three credits must be selected from Physics or other natural science courses.
MusicMUS 115
ProjectsGAM 120 or GAM 150.
24 additional credits must be selected from Game Project or Computer Science Project courses numbered 200 or higher.
PsychologyPSY 101 and PSY 201.
Three additional credits must be selected from Psychology courses.
Specialization Support ElectivesSix additional credits must be selected from Art, Computer Graphics or Digital Arts, Computer Science, English, Film, Management, Mathematics, or Psychology courses.

Note on General Education Courses

The following courses satisfy the general education requirement for the Bachelor of Arts in Game Design: COM 150 (3), two ENG electives (6), MAT 105 (3), MUS 115 (3), PSY 101 (3), PSY 201 (3), one PSY elective (3), one PHY or natural science elective (3), and one Humanities and Social Sciences elective (3).
