DigiPen offers the following full-time and part-time graduate degree programs: Master of Science in Computer Science and Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts. DigiPen is currently accepting applications for September 2014.

Eligibility for Admission to the Master of Science in Computer Science Program

All applicants to the Master of Science in Computer Science at DigiPen must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission to the program:

  • Completed a bachelor's degree with a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
  • Coursework or work experience in all of the following:
    • Computer Science - data structures, algorithm design and analysis, computer architecture, principles of operating systems, and software engineering
    • Programming - experience programming in a high-level language
    • Mathematics - calculus, linear algebra, and discrete mathematics

In addition, the ideal candidate will have had experience with some of the following:

  • Computer Science - computer networking, artificial intelligence, compiler theory, theory of computation, parallel/multi-threaded programming, computer graphics (e.g., a basic undergraduate course)
  • Programming - programming in C++, programming in a teamwork environment, video game programming
  • Mathematics - numerical analysis, graph theory, number theory, combinatorics, probability theory

Eligibility for Admission to the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts

All applicants to the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts at DigiPen must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission to the program:

  • Completed a bachelor's degree with a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
  • Demonstrate a strong foundational art and observational skills through the completion and submission of an Art Portfolio.
  • Achieved proficiency in the English language. Non-native English speakers must provide a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper exam), 213 (computer exam), or 80 (Internet-based Test — iBT) Please see the Proof of English Language Proficiency section of the admission requirements for other acceptable test options.
  • Ideally, applicants to the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Art program will have had foundational course work or experience in the following: Drawing, Figure Drawing, Art History, Composition, 3D Modeling and Animation, Sculpture, Color Theory and Digital Painting.

How to Apply

To apply for one of the Master's degrees offered at DigiPen Institute of Technology, candidates must submit a complete application no later than July 1 of the year for which you are applying. Applications received after July 1 may not be reviewed for the current year's intake.

Admissions at DigiPen works on a rolling basis, meaning we will accept applications during the time before the July 1 deadline. A new application typically becomes available in September each year.
