Transportation
Many bodies of water divide Seattle and its suburban areas. Lake Washington, which is about 28 miles long, bisects the city into Westside and Eastside regions. Redmond is on the Eastside, at the northeast terminus of State Route WA-520, which connects Seattle to the Eastside. Interstate Freeway 5 is the major north-south byway on the Westside; I-405 is the major north-south artery on the Eastside. Redmond is just minutes from Seattle's downtown, which includes the Space Needle, Washington State Convention Center, Pike Place Market, and many fine restaurants. Downtown Seattle can be reached easily using public transit.
Metro bus service is convenient and efficient with connections from Redmond to Seattle and Bellevue. Metro currently has several bus routes to the DigiPen area. Bus stops are located by the intersection of 148th Ave. NE and NE 51st St.
Use the Metro Trip Planner to find the best route for you. To purchase a pass, call (206) 624-PASS and use your VISA or MasterCard or visit their website.
All Metro buses are fully accessible for passengers with wheelchairs or walkers. Buses also have bike racks for those with bicycles. Metro drivers are very helpful; if you are new to Seattle and have questions, just ask them.
Getting to and from Sea-Tac
Metro and Sound Transit can get you quickly and cheaply to the airport. Use the Metro Trip Planner and enter "Sea-Tac Airport" as one terminus and your location as the other.
