The vision of DigiPen Institute of Technology is to be a world acknowledged institution of higher education and research in the area of interactive computer technologies.

Mission
The mission of DigiPen Institute of Technology is to offer higher education to those who would like to pursue studies and careers in fields of interactive computer technologies, which include graphics and real-time interactive simulation, and provide highly qualified personnel to the interactive computer industries to sustain their growth and productivity.

Objectives
In pursuit of this mission, DigiPen adopts the following statement of objectives to:

  • Develop a first class professional environment in which students will learn effectively through lectures and practical exercises;
  • Provide high quality equipment and facilities suitable for learning up-to-date technologies;
  • Ensure the degree programs encourage students to develop critical and independent thinking;
  • Promote teamwork through various stimulating and challenging projects;
  • Enrich the educational experience by accepting international students;
  • Provide a world-class research center by developing partnerships with interactive computer technology companies;
  • Enable students to become problem-solvers and innovators through various challenging assignments; and
  • Prepare graduates to be industry-ready for prospective employers.

In support of these objectives, DigiPen Institute of Technology will strive to:

  • Continue to recruit qualified and outstanding faculty members, whose personal goals and commitments are to provide the best possible learning experience for students;
  • Continue to build positive relationships with local graphics/video game developers to promote student internships;
  • Continue to sponsor and encourage professional users group meetings and industry-related special interest group meetings to be held at the institution;
  • Uphold the standards for student admissions;
  • Maintain, and update on a regular basis, a library of resources including, but not limited to, textbooks, magazines, and scientific journals;
  • Review and update program curriculum on an annual basis to ensure the course material is up-to-date and useful for the industry; and
  • Promote the voice of students through the student association.

  • Collaboration - DigiPen values cooperative partnerships and collaboration in decision making to improve the quality of decisions and to secure broad commitment to them.

These values are reflected in the daily operation of the school and in the quality of the work and services produced by students, faculty, and staff.
