DigiPen provides registered students with access to a database where they can connect with other students who are interested in sharing accomodations.
The first step to being added to the database is to complete a questionnaire. Once you've done that the application will display matches automatically and you will have the opportunity to filter by criteria you choose. Please start here at the Roommate Database login.
NOTE: Postings to the Roommate Locator Database will be automatically erased on the first day of classes, September 2nd, 2008. If you find your roommate before September 2nd, please remove the Roommate Database Questionnaire and posting from the DigiPen roommate locater database immediately to ensure that your information is current.

Housing Pointers:

Below is a list of different things to keep in mind when looking for housing in the Washington area:
  1. When speaking to Apartment complex’s, mention that you are a DigiPen Institute of Technology student. Many of these properties know DIT and will waive security deposits or have other specials just for you.
  2. Some properties will lease for 6, 9, or 12 months. If you do not plan to be in Redmond during the summer, ask if they have a shorter lease option than a full-year.
  3. Ask them to tell you about their monthly specials. Sometimes you can get a month free, reduced rent, or waived deposits.
  4. Be prepared for paperwork and move-in costs. Most apartments require a damage deposit, and first and last months rent as well depending on the apartment complex. Some even require a pet deposit.
  5. Some properties will only rent to people above 18 years of age. Your parents may have to co-sign the lease with you.
  6. If you have a car you should also check out areas like Kirkland, Factoria, Woodinville and Bothell. If you do not mind the commute you can find some great deals farther out from the Redmond/Bellevue area.
