Financial Aid Process Checklist
For your convenience, here is a checklist to help you see if you have all of the documentation for financial aid:
- FAFSA: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
- To apply for the 2007-2008 academic year (Fall 2007 through Spring 2008) begin with the 2007-2008 FAFSA available online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will need your 2006 tax/income information.
- To apply for the 2008-2009 academic year (Fall 2008 through Spring 2009) begin with the 2008-2009 FAFSA available Jan 2nd, 2008 online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will need your 2007 tax/income information.
- Our federal school code is 037243. We recommend you complete a FAFSA application electronically. This is the fastest method and you will be able to receive your Student Aid Report much quicker. Paper FAFSA applications are available, check with your high school counselor or stop by the DigiPen Financial Aid Office.
- Complete a DigiPen Financial Aid application for the 2007-2008 award year.
- Complete a DigiPen Financial Aid application for the 2008-2009 award year.
- Once the Federal Processor confirms your FAFSA application has been processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report at your home address or email address if provided. If you have listed DigiPen Institute Of Technology on your FAFSA, our financial aid office will receive your electronic student aid report.
- Verification documents: If noted on your Student Aid Report that you were selected for verification, you must provide copies of your Federal Tax Return for yourself, your spouse (if you are married), and your parents (if your parents information was required on the FAFSA). A Verification Worksheet is also required. Download:
- Additional documentation: If noted on your Student Aid Report, you must clarify citizenship, selective service registration, or defaulted loan status, etc. The financial aid office may also request further documentation.
- Washington State Residents: Application for Washington State need grant 2007-2008 award year
- Washington State Residents: Application for Washington State need grant 2008-2009 award year
- STUDENT LOANS: Students interested in obtaining a Stafford Student Loan must complete:
- MPN for Stafford and PLUS Loans: https://www.selectyourlender.com/digipen
- Complete an entrance counseling session at www.edfund.org. Click on edtest and complete the entrance counseling test.
If you checked everyone of these boxes above, you are all done with the financial aid process.
