INFECTIONARIUM is a water-themed, creature-driven arena shooter, in which the player must seize control of a number of different creatures and use the abilities of the different creatures to defend against swarming enemies.
![]() Our parasite is left in a strange world. Fighting for it's life against vicious creatures, it must use its ability to posess its enemies in order to survive. |
|---|
![]() The slowest moving, but deadliest enemy. Run away and you will survive, face it and you will surely fall. But maybe, just maybe you can use it to your advantage. |
![]() The gorflak is a defensive genius. With its long and windy tail, it can deflect most attacks. But what happens when the swiflets are too numerous? You'll never be able to keep up with their speed. |
![]() Fast and clever, this tiny little creature produces a small, but quickly produced stream of poison when possessed. You may not be able to take down a Puffigan, but you'll certainly be able to outrun it. |
The Team |
Designer / Programmer: Matt KinzelmanWriting cutting-edge engines for graphics, resource management, and input is quite the task. Doing this while taking classes and maintaining a game design document throughout development is even harder, though. Fortunately, Mr. Kinzelman is up to the task. Also from the Battle Ball Brawl team, Matt’s prior experience rests mainly in graphics programming, but he’s always looking to broaden his codebase. |
Product Manager / Art Director / Programmer: Darryl DespieDarryl's primary focus is in the area of rigid body physics engines with a minor focus in AI. His early physics works were shown in the platforming for the 2D sidescroller Tunnel Hunt. Later he came to make the robust physics engine for the planetoid-based 3D shooter/platformer Battle Ball Brawl. Now his final project for DigiPen will be a convex rigid body and spring simulation for the up and coming arena shooter INFECTIONARIUM. |
Producer / Programmer: Shane Michael MathewsAfter a successful summer being paid by Google to add an advanced 3D animation system to OpenOffice.org, Mr. Mathews has secured a job at 2K Boston and is intent on doing whatever it takes to make INFECTIONARIUM a fun and atmospheric game. In his junior year he crafted the graphics engine for the game “Triflin’ Slamtastrophie”. |
Artist / Scripter: Emiley FlowersHolding an interest in concept art, modeling and animation, Emiley is taking up all three (and more!) for the project INFECTIONARIUM. Still in her Junior year, Emiley hopes that work on this project will both allow her to experience work on a team with mixed skill sets and give her useful knowledge about art for games. |
